Restaurantes - La Lista! | Mexico City

A few of our favourite restaurants in Mexico City - perfect for a more upscale / vibey affair!
Azul Histórico
Romantic restaurant set in the heart of Mexico City’s ‘Centro Histórico’ (historical centre) and in the beautiful building of the Plaza Down Town. Nestled among candle lit trees and a dimly lit dining room, with an exciting menu blending Mexican traditional dishes with modern innovations. A great place to discover a whole variety of Mole dishes - the ‘Buñuelos’ (fritters) filled with duck served with black mole will forever be itched in our memory
Afterwards head upstairs to the roof terrace bar and enjoy a smokey Mezcal cocktail, overlooking the city

Los Danzantes Coyoacán
Stylish atmospheric restaurant, fun place to go with friends, with a creative menu with fabulous vegetarian options. Try the ‘Hoja Santa’ - a large Mexican green herb leaf filled with ‘quesillo’ (a white stringy cheese from Oaxaca) cooked on a comal, and bathed in a tomatillo salsa. Other highlights include ‘Tostada de Huitaloche’ - ‘huitaloche’ is ‘corn fungus’ but don’t be put off - it’s a Mexican delicacy(!), similar to mushrooms in taste with an incredibly earthy taste and soft and chewy texture. Tacos de Coliflor (cauliflower) are also great
Here is a great place to get more familiar with different Mezcals (Mexico's smoky agave based spirit) - they also produce the ‘Mezcal los Danzantes’. Cocktail menu is also banging!

Contramar / Entremar
These are both definitely more ‘lunch’ places in a smart, airy and buzzy setting. Created by acclaimed Mexican chef Gabriela Cámara who put the mouthwatering ‘Tuna Tostada’ on the global food map.
Restaurants for seafood lovers - they use the freshest ingredients with innovative preparation taking seafood tostadas and tacos to new heights! ‘Tostada de Atún’ (Tuna Tostadas) - are an absolute must here - soy and citrus marinated sashimi grade tuna on a crispy golden tostada with chipotle mayo, served with crispy leek rings and avocado slither - there’s nothing like it! Shows also how wonderfully Mexican and Japanese ingredients pair together! Tostadas de Cangrejo (crab tostadas) are also not to be missed. Enjoy it all with a refreshing ‘Michelada’ - Mexico's beer version of a Bloody Mary - flavour packed with citrus juices and a whole concoction of salsas

Cantina La 20 | Andrés Bello Polanco
Traditional Mexican fare in a glitzy, avant-garde space with a lively, celebratory atmosphere and live music such as ‘Mariachi’! Also serves great cocktails with bar seating

La Docena Oyster Bar & Grill
Lively seafood restaurant - enjoy great oysters, ceviches, tostadas and other seafood and fish delights in this convivial buzzy restaurant in the Roma district
